The Connected Group Workshop is for individuals connected to communities impacted by gender identity or gender expression including LGBTQ organizations and their supports, allies and partners.

- Identify strengths, needs and gaps in the workshop region related to human rights and gender diversity
The Alberta Human Rights Act was amended in 2015 to add Gender Identity and Gender Expression as expressly prohibited grounds of discrimination. This amendment makes it clear and explicit that people cannot discriminate based on either of these protected grounds. The Act protects individuals from discrimination in the areas of: Housing Tenancy, Hiring and Employment, Signs and Publications Goods, services, accommodations or public facilities, Membership in trade unions, employers’ organizations or occupational associations.
