Rural Family Law
Peace Region
This program is meant to provide legal advice to low income Albertans residing in Northern areas of the province that do not have access to a local community legal clinic. The Rural Family Law Project has volunteer lawyers that can offer you up to 45 minutes of free legal advice. If you are low income and meet our financial eligibility guidelines, we will do our best to assist you with your family law issue. Our organization and most of our volunteers are located in Edmonton, so your appointment will, in most cases, be over the phone with an Edmonton lawyer.
We offer service to individuals and families in the following areas:
Parenting Orders
Child and Spousal Support
Common-Law Relationships
Custody and Access Orders
Guardianship
Queen’s Bench Protection Order Hearings
Response to uncomplicated Divorce
Division of Property
***We do not assist with Child Welfare matters***
